Affinity Group Goals
- Build authentic connections among adults through shared interests and fellowship.
- Provide opportunities for fun, friendship, and spiritual growth outside of traditional worship and study settings.
- Welcome newcomers by offering low-barrier entry points into the life of Epworth.
What we do:
We provide opportunities for fellowship and connection through hobbies, recreation, and special interests. Whether you love playing a sport or just want to meet new people, there is a group for you.
These groups encourage community, build friendships, and create new pathways for belonging at Epworth.
Functions of the Adult Affinity Groups
Activities and time commitments vary by group. Current groups include:
- Pickleball Group
- Open to all skill levels.
- Meets weekly in the gym for casual play and friendly competition.
- Basketball Group
- Recreational play for young adults and children.
- Weekly evening games and opportunities for connection.
- Singles Ministry
- Fellowship, support, and social opportunities for single adults of all ages.
- Includes small groups, service opportunities, and events designed to build friendships and spiritual growth.
- Other Affinity Groups
- New groups form as interests emerge (walking club, card groups, crafts, etc.).
- All are welcome to participate or suggest new ideas.
The public, members, and volunteers are encouraged to participate by attending group activities and inviting others. These groups are designed to be flexible, low-commitment ways to get involved.
