Life Events

Celebrating and Honoring Life Together

Epworth walks alongside you in life’s most meaningful moments—welcoming new life, celebrating love, remembering loved ones, and providing sacred space for prayer and reflection.

What you’ll find:

Life events connect faith with the milestones of your journey. Our pastors, staff, and care teams are here to provide guidance, support, and spiritual presence for you and your family.
Services Available:

Baptism

Holy Baptism is a covenant between an individual and God. It is both God’s word to us, proclaiming our adoption by grace, and our word to God, promising a faithful and loving response. Baptism begins a lifelong journey of growing deeper in faith and commitment to Christ.

Persons of any age are welcome to receive baptism. The United Methodist Church recognizes baptism from other faith traditions and does not re-baptize.

Galatians 3:27
“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have clothed yourself with Christ.”

If you are expecting a child, please call 419-531-4236 and one of our pastors will be honored to pray with you and your family.
Membership is not required, though it is through the life of the church that we grow in our understanding of God’s love and service.

For more information or to schedule a baptism, contact the church office at 419-531-4236.

Weddings

A wedding at Epworth is a Christian celebration of love and commitment. Our pastors are eager to walk with you through your premarital preparation and your wedding day. This sacred ceremony, in which you enter into covenant with God and one another, creates the foundation of your marriage.

Most weddings are held in the Sanctuary, which seats up to 450 guests and features a long marble aisle, warm wood tones, and beautiful stained-glass windows. Smaller and more intimate weddings may be held in the Chapel or the Memorial Garden.

Our gym, located on the office level, is available for receptions and can accommodate up to 250 guests.

If you are engaged, congratulations. Please contact the church office to begin planning your ceremony and to arrange premarital counseling with one of our pastors.

Funeral and Memorial Services

We are privileged to serve families before, during, and after the loss of a loved one. Our pastors and care team are here to provide compassionate support, prayer, and guidance throughout the process.

When a death is imminent, our pastors are honored to come and pray with you. Please call 419-531-4236 for a pastoral visit. If this occurs after office hours, call the emergency number 567-249-0885 and the pastor on call will respond as soon as possible.

Services may be held at Epworth, at a funeral home, or at a graveside, depending on the family’s wishes. Our pastors will assist with planning, scripture, music, and service elements that honor your loved one’s life and faith.

Matthew 5:4
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

Memorial Garden

Epworth’s Memorial Garden offers a sacred space for reflection and remembrance. Families may choose ground interment or a niche within the columbarium. The garden is a place of beauty, prayer, and peace for all who visit.

Romans 8:38
“…nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord, not death or life.”

For more information about the Memorial Garden, interment, or pre-planning, please contact the church office at 419-531-4236 or email info@epworth.com.
