Children’s Sunday School

Epworth United Sunday School Goals

  • Teach children about faith in God through a relationship with Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit.
  • Support families by providing faith resources in print and by email.
  • Create welcoming and engaging Sunday morning experiences for all children.
  • Provide safe, nurturing childcare for infants through preschoolers during worship services.

Children’s Sunday School offers engaging lessons for toddlers through 5th grade every Sunday morning (except Family Worship Sundays). Children are checked in at the lobby kiosks, receive a secure name tag, and are guided by staff and volunteers to their classrooms. Lessons include Bible stories, prayer, music, and hands-on activities that help children build their faith. Families also receive additional resources to extend learning at home.

Family Worship

At Epworth, Family Worship means that children join their families in the sanctuary for the full worship service rather than attending separate Sunday School classes.

It is scheduled several times a year and is designed to:

  • Encourage families to worship, sing, pray, and hear God’s Word together.
  • Help children learn the flow of worship and feel included as valued participants in the larger church community.
  • Give Sunday School volunteers a chance to also worship with their families.

On Family Worship Sundays, there is no Children’s Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., but childcare for infants through preschoolers is still provided during all worship services.
