About the Memorial Garden
The Epworth Memorial Garden has been a sacred space of reflection and remembrance since 1992. It provides a beautiful and meaningful final resting place on the grounds of the church that many have loved and served. Interment in the Memorial Garden is an alternative to traditional burial.
The garden is located just outside the chapel, creating a peaceful and private setting for prayer, reflection, and remembrance. Through the generosity of a church member, the garden is expanding to include a new water feature, a winding pathway, seating areas, and a new columbarium. Together these elements make the garden a serene place of hope, beauty, and comfort.
Romans 8:38
“…nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord, not death or life.”
Faith and Promise
We live with the hope of life eternal and the assurance that even death cannot separate us from God’s love. Preparing for the end of our earthly lives brings peace of mind and eases the burden on loved ones during times of grief.
What is a Columbarium
A columbarium is a stone wall with niches designed to hold urns containing cremated remains of deceased loved ones. Each niche is covered with a plaque that bears the name of the individual for memorialization.
Interment Options
Both interment in the columbarium and traditional ground interment are available.
- Columbarium interment includes a memorial plaque.
- Ground interment includes a name memorialized on a granite tablet.
Eligibility
Membership at Epworth is not required for interment. The garden was created for those who consider Epworth their spiritual home, as well as for their immediate family members.
