We have some great news to share; Bishop Gregory Palmer has appointed Rev. David Pettengill as Associate Pastor and Director of Youth Ministries for Epworth beginning September 1. In this position, Dave will be responsible for directing, leading, and growing a dynamic program for youth, grades 6 -12. He will focus on building authentic relationships that engage youth both in Church and in the world; creating a welcoming and inclusive culture that attracts new people; and recruiting, nurturing, and developing a team of adult leaders who will assist in helping youth to deepen their walk with Christ.

Most of you will know that Dave previously served as Resident Pastor at Epworth from 2015 to 2017. Dave was appointed Lead Pastor at Parkview United Methodist Church in Miamisburg, Ohio last year. He has a strong background in Youth Ministry, with a Bachelor Degree and over a decade of experience in this field. Dave also has a Master of Divinity Degree from United Theological Seminary and is a Provisional Elder in the West Ohio Conference.

Dave and his wife Lindsey have two children, (Aurora, age 5, and Soren, who turns 2 in August).  They will be relocating to the Sylvania area in the coming weeks. Dave also has a son from a previous marriage, Roma, who is 21 and lives in Utah studying auto mechanics.

We are so excited and blessed to welcome the Pettengill’s back to Epworth! We ask for your support and prayers for them during this period of transition. We also wish to thank and commend Chuck Campos, who has so graciously lead Youth Ministries over the past several months.
