Hello Reese, what an intriguing question. Thanks for writing. I have two answers to your question.
First, God looks exactly like Jesus. Throughout the Bible we discover this truth. In Colossians 1 we read, “Jesus is the exact Image of the invisible God, the firstborn of Creation.” In Hebrews 13 we read, “Jesus is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His Nature.” Ultimately Jesus describes Himself this way in John 14, “If you really know me, you will know my Father. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him because you have seen Me.” There you have it Reese. When you experience Jesus, you see what God looks like.
Second, God looks like You! This truth is established as early as Genesis, the first Book of the Bible. Most notably, “God created humankind in His Image, male and female He created them.” And, “Let us make men and women in our Image, after our Likeness.” In the New Testament book of Ephesians we find these words, “Put on the new self, which is being renewed daily in the Image of God.”
God looks like Jesus. He also looks like you. Look into the mirror and realize the amazing person looking back at you is made in the likeness of the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, The Prince of Peace and Author of Light.
