EVERY WEEK in The Cloister...

________________

You Can ALWAYS Support our Youth Work Teams through the "painless" purchase of their Kroger's Gift Certificates.

Why painless???

You spend money at that store anyhow, RIGHT?
Buy the gift certificates here instead and use them for those purchases.
(They also make GREAT gifts.)
You don't lose anything and our Youth get a percentage of the proceeds!

Painless.

St. Paul's Meal Sign-up

Twice a year, Epworth comes together as one to contribute, prepare, and serve a hot Sunday dinner to approximately 175 homeless persons.

We need everyone to check the sign up sheets in The Cloister to see how you can be a part.
Many ingredients  need to be donated, people are needed to prepare the meal Saturday, May 17 at 8:30 a.m., and others are needed to serve the meal at St. Paul’s Community Center on Sunday, May 18.
Please be a part of this mission and sign- up to help.

Hurricane Rita Relief Work: Summer 2008

Epworth is organizing another work team to Louisiana for continued storm relief work. This effort will be to the Lake Charles area devastated by hurricane Rita in Sept. 2005. This team will be a work team, but will also be an "advanced scout" team to lay the groundwork for future Hurricane relief trips in the area (first one scheduled will be July 12 - 19). All skill levels are needed and welcomed. The end of April is right around the corner so check your schedule and come on down with us for the most rewarding "Spring Break" you will ever have. If you are interested in further information about joining this or a future team, please contact Dirk Karrenbauer specifically about signing up for this team. A representative of the Mission's Team will be manning the sign-up sheet in the Cloister. For general work team info you can email Marilyn and Bob Town, or Rev. Ken Streitenberger.

All levels of work will be available, but especially construction work.  First-time volunteers and repeat volunteers are encouraged to be part of the team.

Ways that you can be a part of the team include:

  • going on the trip
  • financially sponsoring a team member through scholarship funds
  • driving team members to Detroit Metro airport on the date of departure
  • driving team members home from Detroit Metro at the time of their arrival

Want an easier one? Join a Wesley Group Family!

The Wesley Group Ministry was created to meet our needs for authentic fellowship, accountability and trusting relationships. Epworth Wesley groups consist of a maximum of 12 individuals who meet at least once a month to share in true spiritual community. During these meetings, members are encouraged to openly and honestly share the events of their lives and how they affect their spiritual growth. Wesley Groups are for everyone regardless of where you are in your faith journey. Being a part of a Wesley Group will allow you to deepen your connection with your church family and also with God. By living out our faith in everyday life together, we will grow in our knowledge of God and our love for each other through the work of the Holy Spirit.

If being a part of Epworth's Wesley Groups sounds inviting, contact a member of the Wesley Core Group below. On January 20th & 27th, there will be an information table in the cloister or look for the people wearing the "Wesley Family Member" badges.
