Each Saturday, for six consecutive Saturdays, there will be multiple local agencies benefiting from service projects staffed by Epworth UMC that will involve at least 100 or more volunteers. There will be projects lasting from 3 to 4 hours or longer for all ages and skills. Childcare will be provided for those who have young children so they can fully participate in giving something back to our community. We will be encouraging participation from people outside of Epworth so that individuals and families that don’t have an organizational connection will have an opportunity to team up with our Epworth volunteers on one or more of these Saturdays. We will be partnering with organizations and agencies like St. Paul’s, the Northwest Ohio Food Bank, Metroparks, Sunshine, Toledo Grows, Beach House, the Ohio National Guard Partners in Care, FOCUS, and others in our community. There will be cook-outs and opportunities for social engagement in addition to performing tangible work that will directly impact the lives of people associated with these agencies. Please mark your calendars for each Saturday beginning on August 25 through September 29 and invite your friends to make time for at least one of these Super Saturdays of Service.
