Flu Shot Clinic: Oct. 17

Epworth’s Health Ministries Committee and the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department are sponsoring a Flu Vaccine Clinic at Epworth on Sunday, October 17, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

The flu shots are available for persons of the age 3 years and older. (Children under the age of 3 will not be able to receive flu shots at this clinic).

Please note: The flu vaccines this year will protect against three influenza viruses, including the 2009 H1N1, and two other influenza viruses.
Approximately 2 weeks after receiving the vaccination, antibodies that provide protection against influenza virus develop in the body. (In the meantime you are still at risk for getting the flu).

The cost of the flu shots are $20.

The Health Department will bill Medicare Part B, any Ohio Medicaid program, and Paramount insurance. You must have your insurance card with you.

Please note: Although the Health Dept. will bill these insurance plans, it is your responsibility to check your insurance coverage for flu shots.

A second flu clinic is tentatively scheduled at Epworth on Sunday, November 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This second clinic will only be offered if the vaccine is available at that time.
