“So, warmly welcome each other into the church, just as Christ has warmly welcomed you; then God will be glorified.” From Romans 15:7
Our ministry is to serve as hosts and hostesses of Epworth United Methodist Church, to warmly welcome visitors, offer friendly assistance, and to reflect a greeting of God’s unconditional love to everyone who walks through the doors of Epworth and embrace them with the hospitality of our church family.
Objectives of the Evangelism Committee include:
- Arrangements for greeters at the doors
- Make visitors feel at home
- Phone calls to first-time visitors and hand-written notes to third time visitors
- Assistance with new member dinners and classes
- Implementation of “Epworth Friends”, a mentoring program that helps to match new members with an Epworth “friend” to help them find their place within our church family
- Ambassadors Ministry program: Provide guidance, training, and tools to our Ambassadors to assist them with helping visitors to feel at home and to answer their questions
- Kiosk: The Evangelism committee is responsible for providing visitors and members with current information at the kiosk in the narthex
- Provide current information for visitors in the “visitor boxes" located at the special visitor parking spaces
- Overall, provide a positive attitude that encourages everyone to “bring a friend to church”.
