The sacrament of communion is prepared, arranged and served by communion stewards. Several stewards are asked to help prepare for communion on Saturday. Preparation differs depending if communion is served at the rail, in the pew, or by intinction. The final set up of the elements (bread and juice) occurs Sunday morning. Clean up as well as seting up for the next service follows each service. Communion stewards usually serve six or seven times each year. Communion co-chairs have the responsibility of scheduling, purchasing bread and juice, attending Worship Committee meetings and training new communion stewards.
