The 2007 Epworth Habitat for Humanity project was unlike past builds in that Epworth partnered with ten other area Methodist churches. The churches were Aldersgate, Monroe Street, Sylvania First, Maumee, St. Paul's, Toledo Hope, Church of the Cross, Waterville, and Whitehouse Hope.
The build took place in the Spencer Township Habitat that we have previously built homes in and the build took just a little over 2 months to complete. Epworth was responsible for all of the framing and some of our members returned to help with other aspects of the build. Between the planners, workers and volunteers who provided food, our church had over 50 people involved in the project.
The partner family was Angie Williams and her two teen-age daughters, Angelica and Amantria. As an added blessing for the family, our own Marilee Junke organized a house warming shower and we were able to not only provide them with a new house but a fully furnished home.
A big thanks to all who supported the project and gave generously of their time and resources!
