The purpose of the organization:

"The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church."

The Meaning of Membership:

Membership in United Methodist Women is voluntary. Any woman who chooses to belong may become a member. Members are committed to the Purpose, and are willing to be involved in global missions through United Methodist Women. Membership in the United Methodist Women offers each woman the opportunity to plan and evaluate the program in which she participates. Regardless of all designations of age, race or financial/marital/employment status, each member is regarded as a person of unique value.

Membership in United Methodist Women can be expressed in one or more of the following ways:

  • attendance at meetings;
  • undesignated giving to support global mission;
  • intercessory prayer;
  • meaningful community involvement;
  • participation in varied events, projects, issues and concerns of the Women's Division;
  • accepting leadership responsibility.

All women of The United Methodist Church are not automatically members of United Methodist Women; however, all are welcome and are encouraged to belong. Though the majority of members of the organization will also be members of The United Methodist Church, membership is open to any woman who chooses to fulfill the conditions of membership indicated above.

Circles:

Circles are small groups of women that meet regularly, usually monthly, and have a common bond or goal as a group. In addition to a monthly gathering, circles host one general meeting each year, and participate as they are able in all UMW activities. These circles are continually welcoming new members.

Susanna Circle: This circle consists of women, generally "empty nesters" seeking service and fellowship at a time of day that works for them. Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. in the Epworth lounge.

Deborah Circle: Women from a variety of ages and stages, who desire friendship and Christian support, meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the Epworth lounge. Service projects are adopted as the need arises. Child care is available if needed. In recent years 'the Little Debbies' have been faithful supporters of the "Relay for Life"...CLICK to see photos from the 2009 event.

Margery Mayer Circle: This long-standing group meets for fellowship on a quarterly basis. Contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for meeting dates.

Sarah Circle: Meets the 1st Monday of the month at 9:00 a.m. This group of mothers with young school-age children enjoy fellowship and child care is available if needed. Service projects are adopted as the need arises.

Possibility Circle(s): These are circles yet to be formed by women interested in meeting other women in an atmosphere of fellowship. New circles will determine goals and interests as well as find a convenient time to meet.
