as one of our volunteers reflected on his experience
serving at the Epworth Furniture Mart on a Selection Saturday.

Epworth is and has long been known for the many generous mission projects provided by our congregation, both locally and internationally. Each project and trip has offered us the challenge to Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.

 

Matthew 25:35, “For I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink.
I was a stranger and you invited me into your home.”

 

The Furniture Ministry will accept donations of good used furniture and household goods. Donation pick-up services will be provided twice per month. Selection and distribution currently happens once per month on the third Saturday of each month, which we call “Selection Saturday.” Our first “Selection Saturday” was May 31, 2008 as we provided opportunities to receive furnishings and goods to five families.

 

Please consider becoming a part of this ministry by providing volunteer time for any of the following activities:

 

  • Transportation (pick up of household goods)
  • Interview possible clients at Epworth Church
  • Organize household goods at the Epworth Furniture Mart
  • Help clients select household goods at the Epworth Furniture Mart
  • Help clients load furniture in vehicles at the Epworth Furniture Mart
  • Make phone calls
  • Maintain data information on computer
  • Pray for the success of this Ministry and hope for the clients’ futures
