Do you feel like there is a budding artist in you, but are not sure how to coax it out? We may have answer for you. As part of our year long healthy mind, body, and spirit programming, Congregational Care would like to invite you to participate in our further offerings: 2 session courses for beginners in stained glass and then digital photography/editing taught by Epworth staff member Les Beland and beginner's watercolor taught by his daughter, Bess Hudson.

A brief history of the craft will be followed by 5 hours of hands-on work in two 2 ½ hour sessions. We will learn the basics of design & pattern making as well as glass cutting and soldering. The copper foil technique developed by Tiffany Studios will be employed as we make a simple sun catcher or two. All supplies and tools will be provided and a nominal fee of $5 per person will be charged. Class size will be limited to the first 7 enthusiastic crafters...what you learn here will prepare you to advance on your own to larger projects. Realize the potential of what you and your digital camera can do when you understand each other. How can something so small be so complicated?!? Many folks seem to be bewildered and mystified by their cameras and are clueless about editing their photos on a computer. Hopefully we can all wade through this technology together by doing some shooting and then working with our images to make them the best they can be. All you need is your camera, a memory card with some free space on it, fresh batteries and a willingness to have fun exploring your own possibilities.

WATERCOLOR PAINTING

1:00-2:30pm
A four week beginner's course exploring landscape/still life watercolor painting using four tubes of paint. Classes will be outdoors (weather permitting) so dress appropriately and have a tackle box or bag to carry your supplies. Plan on creating several paintings, exploring the challenge of a limited earth tone palette. Students will purchase & provide their own art materials...the list can be picked up in the office or emailed to you.
