Contemporary Line Dancing

 

When:  Tuesdays, September 15–November 10

Time:    6:30–7:00 p.m. – Beginners

7:00–8:00 p.m. – Experienced Dancers plus Beginners

Line dancing is a popular exercise that builds body-mind coordination, balance, cardio fitness, improves the memory by as much as 70%, dispels stress, and lifts your mood.  Plus you will be smiling and laughing all evening!  Singles or couples can enjoy this type of dancing.

Keeping Kids Safe on the Internet

Wikipedia, MySpace, LOL, :), Twitter--what does it all mean?  Join us on Thursday, October 8 to demystify the jargon and learn about ways to keep your family safe on the internet.  We will talk about social networking, predators, identity theft and more.  This session is designed for adults only and will be offered at two times 10:00-11:00 a.m. or 6:45-7:45 p.m. in room 202.

The class will be taught by Epworth member, Tami Norris, who is a Computer Training Coordinator for the Custom Training Solutions division of Northwest State Community College on the Scott Park campus of UT.  Because of a space issue, each class is limited to 10 people. Wednesday Morning Bible Study

 

Weekday Classes and Opportunities, October 7, at 9:00 am., will be the beginning of a six week study entitled  The Prayers of Jesus.   Prayer is the backbone of Jesus’ life and ministry.  From his baptism to his crucifixion, the Gospels portray Jesus as a man of prayer who knew and deeply valued intimate communion with his Heavenly Father.  Via DVD and student study guide, this in-depth study of the prayers of Jesus will give you new insights into prayer, the character of God, and how to deepen your relationship with Him.  Classes will run from 9:00 to 10:30.  This course will conclude on November 12.  Cost of the student guide will be approximately $10.00.  (There is minimal homework for this study.)

Conversations with John…a Bible Study

 

Pastor Thomas will offer a study of the Gospel of John entitled Conversations with John on Wednesday evenings October 7,14, 21, 28, November 4 & 11. from 7:00pm.—8:30 pm.  The study is based on the feature film entitled the Gospel of John, a word-for-word rendering from the Good News paraphrase of the text.  Participants will be asked to read portions of the gospel of John before class and then view the film in six segments followed by a guided discussion of the theological elements of the text/film. This class was offered in January and the participants found this unique Bible study technique to be refreshing and eye-opening as the text takes center stage and the characters come to life.

Cost for the class will be $3.00 to cover the cost of the book and materials.

Job Search Interest Group

 

If you have been terminated from your job and are looking for a new job, Epworth is offering a Job Search Interest Group that meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:00—11:00am in Room 213 Clyde Kunkel is the facilitator and shares his expertise in helping participants develop job search skills. Questions? Call Ruth Ann in the church office. This outreach ministry is open to anyone in the community.

 

 

Journey Through the Psalms

 

Beginning Tuesday, October 20 from 7:00–8:30 p.m. for 8 weeks led by Pastor Marilyn Schroeder.
