OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

Tissue Ministry

This outreach project which we took on for Christmas 2008 has turned into an on-going ministry!  Periodically we go to Sylvania Health Care to personally deliver a box of tissues to each resident.  The boxes are adorned with a sticker to remind them of God’s love – a simple gift but so much needed and appreciated!  To date we have delivered approximately 730 boxes.  You can contribute boxes of tissues by bringing them to any FIF event or you can leave them in the Epworth office.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you want further information or would like to sign up to make the deliveries.  We also accept cash donations and 100% will go towards purchasing the tissues.  We made a spring delivery on April 22, 2010.  Check back for future delivery dates!

MONTHLY SOCIAL EVENTS

Bunco

Once a month the Friends in Faith women gather for a night of Bunco. If you've never played before, don't worry!  We can teach you in minutes!  This is a wonderful chance to meet people and share in Christian fellowship....and there is always great food!

The next opportunities to join us are:

August 17th at Martha's house
September 15th at Christina's house
October 20th at Tammy's house

We don't post last names/addresses on this page so This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to RSVP and confirm location.  We meet at 6:30 PM.  Bring a side dish, appetizer or dessert to share and a box of breakfast cereal or tissues to donate.  Hope to see you there!

BOOK CLUB

Our next book selection is Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.  We'll discuss the book on Tuesday, September 21 in the lounge at 7:00 PM.

the novel, set in post-Spanish Civil War Barcelona, concerns a young boy named Daniel.  Just after the war, Daniel's father takes him to the secret Cemetery of Forgotten Books, a huge library of old, forgotten titles lovingly preserved by a select few initiates.  According to tradition, everyone initiated to this secret place is allowed to take one book from it, and must protect it for life.  This book is described as "ultimately a love letter to literature, intended for readers as passionate about storytelling as its young hero."

Please join us for coffee, dessert and lively discussion.  We always love to see new faces!
