A Few Details About our
Single Adult Ministry
The Single Adult Ministry at Epworth United Methodist Church is open to any adult who is single. You need not be an Epworth member to attend. About 50% of our singles attend Epworth, 25% are members at other Christian churches in the Toledo area, and 25% are Christians although they are not presently active in a church.
Both men and women participate in our singles events although most programs are more than 60% women. We have had people as young as 25 participate as well as folks as mature as 70. The average age is around 55 yrs. old.
Our program consists of people who are single, either because they have always been so, or because they are divorced. There are a few people who are widows or widowers. We have many single parents involved and we include children and grandchildren in some of our events.
There is no fee to be involved in the Single Adult Ministry Program. Educational and spiritual programs may have a fee involved but they are usually minimal. There are always a few folks who are able to participate only because we have scholarship money available. If you are in that position, please contact the singles director to see what arrangements can be made. We don't want anyone to be left out because of finances. Friday Night Dinners are paid for by those who attend (separate checks are prepared).
