Single Adult Ministry
Book Club
A monthly meeting of our singles book club takes place in a local book store cafe (Borders or Barnes and Nobles). The date of our meeting is determined by our participants, so if you would like to attend it’s best to call first to find out this month’s book selection and meeting date. We read both fiction and non-fiction titles, and discuss them in light of our Christian faith. Some of the books we have read and loved include “The Poisonwood Bible,” “The Secret Life of Bee’s,” “Traveling Mercies” and the “The Ragamuffin Gospel.”

“Quaker Summer” by Lisa Samson
Outwardly, Heather’s life seems idyllic: she has an unusually handsome, successful and loving husband, a child she adores and the most beautiful home she could imagine. Inwardly, however, she is falling apart, overcome by the idea that this comfortable, affluent life is keeping her from God's will. With the help of several older, wiser Christians, her patient family and her two best friends, Heather comes to some painful conclusions about her past and future.
Please RSVP to Erin by Tuesday Nov. 13 if you plan on joining us.
